Paris Hilton denies ‘taking part’ in John McCain’s political ad
Above is the latest and most controversial political advertisement of U.S. Republican presidential candidate, John McCain.
Why controversial? Well the commercial which aired for the first time last Wednesday, actually featured McCain’s opponent, Barack Obama being accused of becoming a celebrity. In the ad, Obama’s images were shown alongside our dear heiress, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, while the narrator says, “He’s the biggest celebrity in the world, but is he ready to lead?”
With both Britney’s and Paris’s notoriety, we know too well their inclusion in the ad has been a strategy.
And so we come to wonder, what did Paris think about her ‘taking part’ in that political ad?
Well although the ad can be considered a ‘free exposure’ for our dear heiress and her gal pal Brit, Paris is undeniably pissed off with the campaign that used her image without authorization.
“Miss Hilton was not asked, nor did she give permission for the use of her likeness in the ad and has no further comment,” a spokesperson of Paris tells reporters.
Furthermore, a friend of Paris told E!Online that the socialite actually hasn’t seen the ad yet; “She knows about it, people have told her, but she hasn’t seen it, and she doesn’t plan to.”
“She’s on tour with Benji [Madden] and isn’t watching television and has not been on the Internet. But she’s already said she’s not too happy about it.”
Interestingly, while Paris seems to be pissed off with her unauthorized stint in the controversial ad, her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton were reported to be big supporters of McCain. It was said that the couple contributed $4,600 to the McCain campaign just this year.
