Kathy Hilton to McCain Ad: Not Funny!
If most people found it quite amusing to see the ad of Republican presidential candidate, John McCain mocking Barack Obama which also featured clips of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, Kathy Hilton’s reaction is the opposite.
While McCain attempts to inject humor into the presidential race, Paris’s mother, Kathy, believes it is but a waste of time and attention.
In a short article posted on the liberal Huffington Post website, the Hilton matriarch stated, “It is a complete waste of the country’s time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs.” “And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next president of the United States,” she further adds.
And while John McCain thought the ad has “got a lot of humor in it,” in an interview last Friday, Kathy counters by saying the ad is “a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign.”
Kathy Hilton and her family donated a total of $4,600 to McCain’s campaign earlier this year. So of course she has the right to be enraged by the ‘joke’!
Well I for one (although I’m not American) do not like it when politicians’ campaigns tend focus on discrediting their opponents more rather than showcasing what they can do to their countries.
As for McCain’s ad, I really think the Hilton family has all the right to get offended. After all, they used to be his supporters, not to mention contributors; right?!
