Judge, Prosecutor & Al Sharpton: Paris’ Release An Outrage!
The Washington Post reports that Ms. Hilton is to have another day in court-today at 9:00AM! Apparently, prosecutors and Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer were more than a little upset at Sheriff Lee Baca’s decision to release Paris early. Seems His Honor had specified during sentencing that the heiress was not allowed to serve house detention! And the city attorney has filed a motion demanding that Hilton be returned to jail, and to show cause why Sheriff Baca should not be held in contempt of court! Paris is even getting the sheriff of L.A. County in trouble!
In another story, the National Ledger reports that Rev. Al Sharpton is equally outraged over Paris’ release, saying that it “…gives all the appearances of economic and racial favoritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of color.” He cites cases of others who handled incarceration badly, and some who had medical conditions, who were not allowed to leave jail early. He also refers to several incarcerations he served himself, at least one of which had health concerns involved.
And Fox News’ John Gibson agrees with Rev. Al, saying:
In fact, when this little rich white girl gets her way by throwing a hissy fit it illustrates that celebrities and rich people can make things happen that others cannot.
I have to say that I agree with Rev. Al and Mr. Gibson on this one! I won’t make any predictions. You never know what the courts will do on this! But I, for one, hope Paris must serve out the rest of her sentence, just like any of us less fortunates would be forced to do!

I agree as well … folks have every right to be angry, really sick people go to jail all of the time. And the sheriff should be in trouble! You always have to check a court order before you do something like this, and on a case this high profile you should expect some serious trouble so triple checking seems the reasonable thing to do.

Paris Hilton got what she deserve. What does she do anyway. She wishes that she was as lucky as kim Kardashian. Her sex tape is hitting the chart faster than a speeding bullet. http://www.rayjandkim.com

Not to be a killjoy to everyone who’s happy to have Paris back behind bars, but I actually don’t think it was an apporpriate action to take. Instead of illustrating that actions have consequences, all that they have managed to show is that the LA Justice system has some serious issues as far as chain of command goes. It makes the whole thing look like a joke if you ask me…

It HAS made the LA Justice system look bad, but I think they failed to show that actions have consequences by releasing her early.
