Recession? What recession?

For Paris Hilton, the word recession is something that did not exist in her dictionary.

Late last year, our dear heiress has blown people away when she got herself a pink Bentley as Christmas present that’s worth $200,000. And as if that wasn’t enough, reports have it that Paris has recently ordered a custom-made, diamond-encrusted dashboard for the Bentley.

Worth a nerve-wracking, £140,000, Paris will have the dashboard flown from the British HQ firm in Crewe to be fitted to her Bentley in LA. (Like so wow!)

A Bentley source was quoted by The Sun saying, “I guess she’s not hit too badly by the recession.”

After Paris asked her staff member to phone Bentley in Crewe, where the vehicle was made, to ask if it would be possible to add diamonds to her dashboard, they were left dumfounded.

“When the man said she wanted to stud the dashboard with a couple of hundred grand’s worth of diamonds, we were stunned,” the source said.

“We’re used to dealing with the stars so we expect the odd extravagance, but this is something else,” he adds.

Unfortunately, despite this exciting expense of our dear heiress she may have to wait a little for her dazzling dashboard, as the Cheshire plant is halting production until early May due to the economic downturn.

Now isn’t it ironic that while the world seems to be in panic due to the financial crisis, here goes Paris not minding to spend at all. On second thought, didn’t she just promise to help this global financial by spending more and more.

Expressing her desire and concern about the current global economic crisis, Paris Hilton has vowed to spend and spend more on her shopping so she can help all the common folks throughout the world.

In her recent interview with British magazine, Heat, our dear heiress admitted that today’s economic crisis didn’t affect her income at all. And so to help those were affected, especially those in the retail industry, Paris made a vow to continue her excessive spending.

“It’s really scary about the economy right now. So the way I’m playing my part in helping is doing a lot of shopping wherever I go,” Paris stated.

Surely, Paris has all easy solutions in life. And while everyone else is worried about budgeting and all, here she is more than willing to spend more just to ‘help’. Now isn’t she lucky?

Shopping and partying may be the two things that Paris Hilton is so good at. But I guess the Australian press has not gotten used to this fact yet.

In her recent visit to Australia, our dear heiress stopped over some of the country’s famous boutiques and shopped ‘til her ATM dropped (as if that could happen) spending over $5,000 on 31 dresses.

This scenario seems to shock the Australian press as they seem to have taken serious monitoring on Paris’s shopping spree with a minute-by-minute breakdown.

While the press was awed with their visitor’s spending habit, one of their charity chiefs did not hide his disgust over this, saying, “In World Vision terms, $5000 would ensure that a village of 2000 people in Africa or Asia would have clean water for the rest of their lives.”

To Paris’s defense, our dear heiress clarifies the reports saying, “I actually bought five dresses, not 31. I work hard and any girl should be able to spend money on themselves if they want to.”

Uhuh!

2008 has been quite a year for Paris Hilton. And as the year ends, I guess it’s just right for our dear heiress to relax and do the thing she loves the most. – Shopping!

Monday, December 29, Paris arrived at Melbourne Airport in Australia to spend a relaxing shopping day ahead of her New Year’s Eve bash in Sydney.

Wearing a pale blue tracksuit with its hood pulled over her head, with her trademark huge sunglasses and red bag bearing her signature statement, “That’s hot,” our dear heiress was greeted at the airport by a huge media pack and adoring fans shouting, “you rock, Paris!”.

“We’re just here, just shopping and relaxing,” Paris managed to give a piece of her word while passing the press pack. “We’re just here to relax and enjoy Australia.”

Hours after she gave that statement, our dear heiress just did what she said stepping out of her hotel for a shopping jaunt through boutiques along South Yarra’s fashionable Chapel Street, including Wayne Cooper.

Paris came with her little sister, Nicole and her new bff, Britanny.

Paris Hilton spending so much isn’t actually news anymore; it’s like our dear heiress has already been known to be too attached with the ‘spending’ word already.

And her recent ‘huge’ purchase (other than for clothes)? – A former brothel frequented by drug peddlers and pirates!

Located at London’s East End district, the estate was reported to have an estimated price of £850,000! Whew! Quite expensive for an estate that was once a haven for druggies and pirates, right?!

But loving the place, Paris exclaims, “It’s just beautiful. It doesn’t have regular rooms but is more like a maze. It used to be an opium den and still has iron joists where pirates and thieves were shackled to the wall.”

A Daily Mail source reveals, “Paris really appreciated the quirkiness of the place – and the knockdown price for such a unique building – and immediately put in an offer.”

Well I guess Paris is just getting ready for Halloween. That couldn’t be a love nest for her and Benji.

Although Paris Hilton’s life seems to have always been surrounded by controversies, scandals, and issues, I guess if given the chance to live our dear heiress’s life even for just a day is something I’d never ever miss!

Of course being Paris Hilton would definitely mean a lot of perps; I get to party and get paid, I get to wear expensive clothes and jewelry, I get to travel a lot, have a sweet and loving boyfriend, and most of all, I get to have a lot of shopping!

Just like what our dear heiress and her friend did at Brentwood Country Mart Los Angeles last Friday, I’d shop as much as I can, too. See that handful of shopping bags she has on her arms? I just love to imagine myself shopping that much.

Being a shopaholic sure is contagious!

Since Paris Hilton and Benji Madden went out in public with their relationship two months ago, the two have seemed to have been inseparable. Wherever one of them is, expect the other one to be there. That’s why it’s actually refreshing to see our dear heiress hanging out with a man other than Benji.

And by the word hanging out, I don’t mean flirting at all. I mean spending a good time with another man’s company. – Her younger brother.

Paris recently spent a day out shopping for “frenemy” Nicole Richie’s unborn baby, Entertainment Tonight reports. The socialite shopped at hotspot Intuition, where she picked up a dozen bags of items, including a black rhinestone baby t-shirt reading “Don’t Ya Wish Your Mommy Was Hot Like Mine?” She also bought matching black pants and black leather baby shoes to go with the shirt.

On the impending arrival of Nicole and Joel Madden’s baby, Paris said, “I am very excited for her new baby.”
The twelve bags of stuff she bought filled Paris’ Bentley to the brim!

Apparently, three weeks in the pokey, as well as a major life change, didn’t damage Paris’ ability to enjoy shopping and talking on her cell phone. As shown in these photos, The Socialite Life reports that Ms. Hilton spent at least part of her time in Hawaii shopping for shoes and ice cream, as well as chatting.

Maybe she’s looking for some good, sturdy walking shoes to keep her feet comfy while she does all her volunteer work? And the cell phone is probably her link to all the charities she’s working with-and setting up! After all, giving away money and time does require staying connected!
