Peaches Geldof and Paris Hilton attend the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS 2009 after party at the Hotel du Cap during the 62nd Annual Cannes Film Festival on May 21, 2009 in Antibes, France.

Like the people have not had too much of her lame (that’s a euphemism actually) acting, Paris Hilton has declared her desire to return on the big screen if and only if it’s legendary director, Quentin Tarantino who would direct her.

Paris, Not France: A Review

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

paris-not-france

In 2008, Paris Hilton did a 65-minute MTV-styled documentary entitled, Paris, Not France - said to reveal the “smart and no-nonsense” side of our dear heiress. While we were not able to see that docu, we may at least hear what those who have have to say about this documentary.

Here are excerpts from the review made by Karina Longworth of SpoutBlog about Paris, Not France.

Hottie and the Nottie: What they said…. (Part 2)

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

hottie_and_the_nottie_ver2

Here’s the last part with our “Hottie and the Nottie” reviews compilation.

“GREAT actors make the craft look easy. In the Paris Hilton comedy “The Hot tie and the Nottie,” acting looks very, very difficult.”
NY Post

“You’ve got to admire Hilton’s complete conviction in herself as the center of all that is beautiful and good. And maybe such unwavering self-regard is actually kind of hot. Or not.”Daily News

“The problem with “The Hottie and the Nottie” is - wait, let me start again. The most crippling of the many problems afflicting “The Hottie and the Nottie” is the radical disconnect between the title and our perception of the movie’s star. I’m not sure on what planet Paris Hilton is considered “hot” - one that involves hazmat suits and tongs, possibly - but it hasn’t been Earth for some time.”Boston.com

“In The Hottie and the Nottie, a vanity picture starring Herself as the vanilla cutie unaccountably loyal to her grotesquely unattractive best bud, Hilton has the meticulously manicured appeal of a lawn where every blade of grass has been individually cut and polished. Head coyly tilted, hip out-thrust, she makes purring kitten, predatory lioness moves not often seen outside of beer ads. Though Hilton may be a model, if her work in Hottie is any indication, she is no actress.”Philly.com

“Ugly in more ways than one.” Epmire

“Every February it seems there’s something like The Hottie & the Nottie - a cinematic excursion so horrific that it’s an insult to bad movies to call it a bad movie. One question that might cross the curious movie-goer’s mind is who in his/her right mind would hire Paris Hilton, professional celebrity and amateur porn star, to headline a mainstream romantic comedy.”Reelviews

Oh well… everything is all about subjectivity, right?! But of course we know for sure this wouldn’t stop Paris from making more and more movies.

And the Razzie? It could even help Paris be inspired and improve her acting.

Hottie and the Nottie: What they said…. (Part 1)

Hottie and the Nottie

Paris Hilton has recently been awarded a Razzie as Worst actress in 2008 for her movie, “Hottie and the Nottie” – which was also named by IMDb as the worst flick ever. But the Razzie as we may all know is just one body naming the worsts in Hollywood in the past year. So what I did today is compile several reviews from different movie critics and see what they had said about Paris’s flick.

Here are some of those reviews:

“Consensus: The Hottie and the Nottie is a crass, predictable, and ineptly staged gross-out comedy that serves little purpose beyond existing as another monument to Paris Hilton’s vanity.”Rotten Tomatoes

“Paris Hilton has already ushered a remarkable three features into the Internet Movie Database’s “Bottom 100.” “The Hottie and the Nottie” will make it an even four, being so unfunny that the previously unthinkable sentiment “She deserves better” comes to mind. A certain disappointment sets in when the consummate awfulness subsides after an hour, becoming slightly less painful. But then, dropping a hammer on your foot improves that way, too. Biz will be hot … not.” Vfilm

“…in case you were wondering, those acting lessons still haven’t paid off. She [Paris Hilton] pouts and poses her way through every scene, as if she is entirely unaware of the difference between modeling and acting. No matter the talent of the other members of the cast, her lack of big-screen charisma and flat line deliveries reduce every scene she’s in to the level of a high school play. And yet amazingly enough, she’s not the worst part of this film…” ign.com

“Clearly attempting to remake Paris Hilton into the Bo Derek of our age, this comedy introduces its lead actress with a slow-motion shot of her jogging on the beach, with numerous hapless males ogling themselves silly. Unfortunately, Ms. Hilton is no Bo Derek, and “The Hottie and the Nottie” is no “10.” Clearly hoping to capitalize on the star’s notoriety, what should have gone straight to video has inexplicably wound up as a theatrical release.”THR.com

Paris Hilton wins a Razzie Award

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

razzies

With her attention-loving nature and the desire to be recognized with everything she does – may it be with her singing, acting, or modeling career – everyone should be thinking Paris Hilton is celebrating now that she’s gotten (finally) an acting recognition.

Unfortunately, it ain’t the Oscars nor the Golden Globes that’s putting her name on the top list, it’s actually the Razzie. And instead of putting her on the top list, our dear heiress topped the ‘award’ body’s flop list bagging the Worst Actress award for her movie, “The Hottie and the Nottie”.

Aside from the Worst Actress award, the just-turned 28 heiress also won the award for Worst Supporting Actress for her cameo in “Repo! The Genetic Opera”, a rare double win for an actress in Razzie.

Fortunately for Paris, she isn’t the only one who’s bagged a gold spray-painted raspberry. Mike Myers comedy, “The Love Guru” picked up Worst Picture, Worst Actor for Myers and Worst Screenplay. German filmmaker Uwe Boll — branded the “teutonic twerp of world cinema” — picked up the Worst Director Razzie as well as a worst career achievement award while former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan got the Worst Supporting actor award for his performance in ABBA musical “Mamma Mia.” Steven Spielberg’s revival of the Indiana Jones franchise in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” on the other hand was crowned Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel.

Looking at the bright side, at least Paris Hilton got noticed now, right?! And to be sharing the list of Hollywood’s worst in 2008 with some of the industry’s big names is not that bad after all.

Paris Hilton’s possible Repo! role reprise

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

repo

Despite getting bad bad reviews from movie critics, it seems like Paris Hilton would still be lucky enough to reprise her role in Repo! The Genetic Opera.

According to her co-star Alex Vega, the film’s producers are still hoping to bring back the rock musical’s cast for a sequel despite being disappointed that the picture was only given a limited release in the US.

“From the very, very beginning, we always talked about a prequel or a sequel to this movie. And it’s hard, because as of right now, we all want to do it, but, you know, it didn’t really do as we hoped,” she tells Moviehole.net.

Then adds, “And we didn’t really have a lot of support. But we’re hoping that the fans will come back, and it will be an underground cult classic that will grow, and that will eventually spark us to do either the prequel or the sequel to this film.”

Hmmm… If I were to ask you, would you like to see Paris do the sequel?

Paris Hilton to play Tinkerbell

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

In the launching of her latest fragrance, “Fairy Dust by Paris Hilton,” our dear heiress revealed that she’s always loved Tinkerbell and fairies, thus coming up with the perfume’s name.

Well I guess this love she has for those creatures would just land her a role in an upcoming Disney movie.

According to New York Post’s gossip column, Page Six, Paris Hilton has impressed the bosses at Disney with her movie roles and her online comedy sketches and think that our dear heiress would be just perfect for the fairy role in the live version of Peter Pan.

“Paris has worked on her acting chops lately and showed some comedy prowess in her YouTube spoof of running for president. Disney suits saw it and think she may be developing some comedic-actress potential,” a source tells.

Paris Hilton to do another movie

Friday, November 14th, 2008

After unimpressive reviews from various critics for her latest film, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Paris Hilton isn’t giving up on acting yet and has recently revealed that she’s doing another movie.

Called “Pedal to the Metal,” the upcoming film is under the comedy genre and is written by Jeff Jenkins.

IMDB writes the movie’s plot as:

“When seventeen-year-old Martin sneaks out of the house to escape his strict father and attend a rock concert, a series of events leads him to hijack the rock star’s tour bus and hold her at gunpoint in a bid to lose his virginity.

In an interview with Femail, Paris shares, “Well, I just got back from London last night. I was shooting Paris Hilton’s My British Best Friend and I’m gonna be doing other ones across the country. And I have a new show, which is a hybrid reality show based on my life, with Ryan Seacrest producing it. And I’m doing another film called Pedal to the Metal, which is a comedy where I play a rock star.”

Paris Hilton to do a dark comedy

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Paris Hilton ‘acting’ prowess may have taken a step forward already as more and more ‘entities’ express their desire to get our dear heiress to ‘act’.

There was the reported MTV comedy series to cast her together with Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan (which was later on said to be not on the works) , then the most recent Broadway thingy.

Now it has been written in some news syndicates that our dear heiress will be joining indie filmmaker Todd Solondz in the latter’s newest ensemble project.

The project, which will be financed and produced by the Minnesota-based inside Werc Werk Works, will be a dramatic family comedy set against the backdrop of a war. It will feature Paris Hilton alongside Allison Janney, Charlotte Rampling and Paul Reubens.

Producers of the project see it as a “part-sequel, part-variation” on Solondz’s dark 1998 family saga “Happiness.”

Paris Hilton talks about Broadway possibility

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

Oh really?!

Yeah, I had the same reaction, too when I read of that headline. But could that really be true?

Possibly…

As our dear heiress claims that she had several offers to do various Broadway roles that ended being turned down, Paris said that she would definitely consider a part in a Repo! musical.

“If they did Repo on stage, I’d do it, because I really believe in it and I love it. But I wouldn’t do anything else,” Paris enthusiastically shares to reporters.

Now that sure is interesting. However, I am quite not sure if Paris would get a good reception in Broadway considering… well, she ain’t that good of an actress, right?!

Meanwhile, it’s good that Paris really believes so much in her film despite the fact that many people think otherwise.

Paris’ film fails to impress critics

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Paris Hilton’s latest film, “Repo! The Genetic Opera” was apparently not as ‘impressive’ as its promotions used to say.

I once posted a review from Quietearth.us entitled, “TAD 08: Review of REPO! The (really bad) Genetic Opera” discussing of the film’s unimpressive factors.

Now, more and more critics have laid down their judgments and were unanimous with their say pertaining to the film. – Bad!

There’s Los Angeles Times critic Mark Olsen who writes, “The film is bad - not good-bad, tacky-bad or fun-bad, just plain awful and nearly unwatchable.”

He also slams our dear heiress’ performance, saying, “It seems the production has had to cut around the ubiquitous Paris Hilton, as she is never glimpsed in anything but brief, fleeting shots and her hoarse bark of a singing voice is used as little as possible.”

Meanwhile, San Jose Mercury says that the film is “as bad as it gets,” adding that the film is “easily one of the worst movies of the year, if not all time.”

Well I guess we just have to see it to believe it, right?!

Paris’ musical gets a bad review

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Paris Hilton may be enjoying herself partying and meeting new people in London, but our dear heiress would surely be upset that her previously released musical film, Repo! The Genetic Opera has just gotten itself a bad review.

Entitled, TAD 08: Review of REPO! The (really bad) Genetic Opera, a certain Dr. Nathan critiques the film and shares how ‘bad’ the film was.

“First off, bad music. Second off, geriatric stars. Third off, hackneyed love triangle plot with forgettable lines. I’ll stop there, although there’s more…,” starts Dr. Nathan with the review.

And with regards to Paris’ acting, the critic shares, “Hilton is more eye candy than voice, and not onscreen as much as you’d like…Whatta waste.”

Well there’s more of those ‘bad review’, so if you want to get the full-text of the review, click here.

Paris and Benji attends “Paris, Not France” premiere

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

After the much talked about manipulation of Paris Hilton pertaining to the cancellation of two of three screenings of her latest documentary film, Paris, Not France at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival, the film finally premiered last night (September 9) with the attendance of our dear heiress and her ever supportive boyfriend, Benji Madden.

Clad in a chic close-neck dress with now-straight hair extensions, our dear heiress was all smile as she arrived the Reyerson Theatre in Canada side-by-side and holding hands with Benj. Paris posed and waved hello to her fans, too.

If we may all recall, a rep of Paris revealed that the cancellation was due to Paris’ plan to make more hype, saying, “We wanted to create more buzz - create some hype . . . We felt the impact would be more extreme if we had one screening.”

If the plan was indeed successful, that we have to find out…

When Hayden Panetierre branded her friend Paris Hilton as a marketing genius, did she also mean manipulative?

Well I would think so.

Upclose with Pledge It!

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

So on my previous post we’ve found out that Paris Hilton is facing a yet another lawsuit filed by Worldwide Entertainment Group Inc. for her lack of cooperation in promoting the movie National Lampoon’s Pledge This!.

If you are not a huge Paris Hilton fan like me, I’m sure the movie is alien to your ears, too. And so for the sake of information, I did a little digging and researched about the movie.

So what is National Lampoon’s Pledge This! all about?
