Paris Talks To Barbara Walters

Monday, June 11th, 2007

ndlfkansdlkj.jpg

Poor Barbara Walters is actually proud of the fact that she snagged a jail interview with Paris Hilton! The National Ledger reports that Walters getting an interview puts her one up on Rosie O’Donnell, when it had been feared that O’Donnell would take many of “The View’s” viewers with her.

I don’t know, Barbara. I might have let Rosie have this one! Here is one of many of Paris’ amusing quotes from the interview:

“I used to act dumb … That act is no longer cute. Now, I would like to make a difference. God has given me this new chance.

In the first place, I have my doubts about Paris’ being dumb being just an act! And, if it was, it was never cute! And this stuff about wanting to make a difference? Well, we’ll see…

Visiting Paris

Monday, June 11th, 2007

12985806451press44200780018pm.jpg

Actress Archives has this to report on Paris’ Sunday visitation:

Paris Hilton was visited on Sunday by Stavros Niarchos and Nicky Hilton on one of the two days per week that prisoners are allowed to have visitors. Nicky Hilton spoke to the press about her sister on the way out of the visit, saying, as quoted by The London Paper, “She’s being strong.” According to reports and eyewitness accounts from the sentencing on Friday, the strength of Paris Hilton may be wavering a bit. The hotel heiress wailed as she was dragged away from the courtroom, shouting, “Mom, mom! It’s not right!” And, according to some sources, she was visibly shaking the entire time. Greta Van Susteren on Fox News, who was mere inches from Paris Hilton during the sentencing, reported that it looked like Paris needed serious medical attention.

After viewing “Her Highness’s” royal crying fit on Friday, it’s difficult to believe sister Nicky’s comment about Paris being strong! Hopefully, she’s found a little more stamina since then!

The article goes on to report that Ms. Hilton is “surprised” by the amount of media attention she has received in the last week. Right. And I’m Mother Theresa.

Judge, Prosecutor & Al Sharpton: Paris’ Release An Outrage!

Friday, June 8th, 2007

20070604-020326-1086.jpg

The Washington Post reports that Ms. Hilton is to have another day in court-today at 9:00AM! Apparently, prosecutors and Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer were more than a little upset at Sheriff Lee Baca’s decision to release Paris early. Seems His Honor had specified during sentencing that the heiress was not allowed to serve house detention! And the city attorney has filed a motion demanding that Hilton be returned to jail, and to show cause why Sheriff Baca should not be held in contempt of court! Paris is even getting the sheriff of L.A. County in trouble!

In another story, the National Ledger reports that Rev. Al Sharpton is equally outraged over Paris’ release, saying that it “…gives all the appearances of economic and racial favoritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of color.” He cites cases of others who handled incarceration badly, and some who had medical conditions, who were not allowed to leave jail early. He also refers to several incarcerations he served himself, at least one of which had health concerns involved.

And Fox News’ John Gibson agrees with Rev. Al, saying:

In fact, when this little rich white girl gets her way by throwing a hissy fit it illustrates that celebrities and rich people can make things happen that others cannot.

I have to say that I agree with Rev. Al and Mr. Gibson on this one! I won’t make any predictions. You never know what the courts will do on this! But I, for one, hope Paris must serve out the rest of her sentence, just like any of us less fortunates would be forced to do!

Paris Out of Jail!

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

12991220451press46200761447am.jpg

TMZ just had this to report:

Paris Hilton has been fitted for ankle bracelet and reassigned to house arrest, after authorities decided to release Hilton from jail due to medical reasons, this according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. spokesperson, Steve Whitmore.

Reporters hammered away about Paris’ medical condition during a press conference in front of the jail, where she was released early this morning, but Whitmore said he could not discuss even the slightest health-related details due to confidentiality laws.

Paris will be under house confinement in her West Hollywood home for 40 days, where she has a 3000-4000 ft. radius of freedom. Her jail cell was 96 square feet. After the 40 days are up, Whitmore says she will have “fulfilled her debt to society.”

Whitmore made it clear that Paris was not released early — she was reassigned. She is technically still in custody.

Talk about miscarriage of justice! After all, Paris has proven herself a danger to society! I can’t wait to hear what these “medical” reasons for releasing her early turn out to be. Money and connections willget you everything, after all!

Darn, there goes my chance of getting my “Jail Journal” published. And, it looks like Paris’ jail diary will be cut to the length of a picture book-which is just about her speed, anyway!

George Clooney Sympathizes With Paris

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

george_clooney635.jpg

According to the Post-ChronicleGeorge Clooney has said that he feels sorry for Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Their article had this to say:

George Clooney: ‘I Feel Sorry For Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton”

Movie star admits he feels sorry for young Hollywood stars today, admitting he couldn’t handle the pressure they face.

The Out Of Sight actor admits he’s sympathetic to troubled stars Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan because he can’t believe the amount of attention they receive from the media.

He says, “If I were as famous as some of those kids who are on the magazines right now at 21 years old, I’d be shooting crack under my eyeball.

“We are always going to be that society that slows down to look at the car wreck on the side of the road. I think we’re just in one of those places right now, and it seems to be focused on younger kids Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan and people like that.

“They’ll get through it, but I wouldn’t want to be growing up around that.”

Sorry, George, but I’m saving my sympathies for those who had fewer opportunities than Paris and Lindsay!

Jailhouse Journal: 6/6/07

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

12984714451press44200780120pm.jpg

Beginning a new journal of Paris’ stay in jail. Who knows? Maybe I’ll have it published!

Reported by CBS News’ The Showbuzz:

“Paris didn’t have to go through the cavity search. When bent over, she didn’t have to cough,” said Saul Reyes, who does maintenance at the women’s jail as part of a work-release program. “She didn’t have to spread ‘em.”

Sources said that the inmate enrollment process that usually takes 24 hours, took Hilton an hour.

“All the inmates waiting to be processed were taken into a temporary holding cell, and Paris was brought in and booked quickly. The inmates taunted Paris for getting special treatment,” a bail bondsman told the newspaper.

And, luckily for Hilton, a soda machine was installed in her ward the day she arrived.

Apparently, someone from the outside tried to cheer Hilton up yesterday. The Post reported that deputies turned back two deliverymen carrying a dozen red roses and a fruit basket with apples, oranges and a pineapple for Hilton.

The care package included a card that said: “I hope you’re OK. Call me when you can. Don’t feel bad, remember you’re Paris Hilton.” It is not known who sent the package to Hilton.

So, dear Paris isn’t getting special treatment? Why didn’t she have to go through a cavity search if that’s normal procedure? Why didn’t Paris have to take her place in line with all the other inmates waiting to be processed?

So someone sent Paris a fruit basket. What?! No bananas and nuts? Remember, you are what you eat!
