Paris Hilton is sad with British BFF runner up’s death

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

After expressing how sad she was with the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton is back to mourning mode as news came out that the runner up of her British BFF show, Kat McKenzie has died mysteriously last week.

Turning on to Twitter, Paris writes, “I am so sad, my friend Kat from British BFF passed away. She was such a beautiful, funny, and charismatic woman. She will truly be missed.”

She continues, “It is devastating to hear of her loss, my thoughts and wishes go out to her friends and family. Love you Kitty Kat. RIP.”

With her death, former contestants of the show also brought forth their condolences and dedications to Kat and her family.

Here are some of their messages:

Im so glad that i got the opportunity to get to know Kat…I have never met someone who has made such a big impression on me .She was full of life and had the most beautiful smile i have ever seen..-layla

Kat was such an out going lively character with such a big personality and behind this she was also a lovely girl with a big heart! Ola

I will miss her greatly and will always envy her courage, confidence and love of life – Samuel

Although I didn’t have the chance to catch Paris’s British BFF, I am still saddened with this news. I know how this must’ve felt to Paris and the show’s former contestants as well. To the family and friends of Kat, from Paris Hilton Watch, our condolences.

Kaitlin Cassidy talks about Paris Hilton

Another star slamming Paris Hilton? Definitely not!

In fact, we are not even talking of a star here. So who is Kaitlin Cassidy and why she’s talking about our dear heiress?

A graduate of Saratoga High School in 2003 and SUNY Oneonta in 2007 where she got a degree of computer arts, Kaitlin is one of those who vied to become Paris Hilton’s New BFF (best friend forever) in the latter’s MTV reality show (2nd season). After four weeks in the BFF mansion Kaitlin was eliminated after being accused for being a “fake and a liar”.

But while the most of the show’s cast have stopped talking to Paris, Kaitlin shares that she and Paris Hilton still communicate after the show.

“We have e-mailed and texted,” she said.

Talking to Times Union recently, she shares more about her experience joining the reality. Here are some highlights of the phone interview.

On why she auditioned for the reality:
This opportunity sort of fell in my lap. Not to mention it’s Paris Hilton. No matter whether you hate her or love her, you can’t deny that she is one the most successful women in Hollywood. I respect her business sense. I always knew she wasn’t like the media makes her out to be. A lot of people in Hollywood are inaccurately portrayed by the media.

On what the people do not know about Paris: (Paris) does put on sort of a persona for TV, but that’s what people buy into, and that’s what works. She’s really funny and down to earth when the cameras are off. Everyone is a little bit different on TV. No one is going to go on TV and start farting.

At least we can see that Kaitlin isn’t bitter at all for not winning in that show. *Smile*

Paris Hilton in Dubai, hires culture squad to avoid jail

Paris in Dubai BFF

As you all know, Paris Hilton is in the Middle East now to shoot the Dubai version of her MTV reality show, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. And being in a conservative place like Dubai, Paris just has to be cautious not to cross her limits as a guest.

So what would Paris being Paris do for this? – Hire a culture squad of course!

That’s right folks, our dear heiress has reportedly hired a team of cultural experts (wow!) to ensure that even if she wears her skimpy outfits in Dubai, she would not get arrested.

“She may be an airhead, but she’s not about to run the risk of spending time in a Dubai prison, however unlikely that might seem,” says a source Britain’s Daily Express newspaper.

Earlier, papz was able to take photos of Paris Hilton clad in a tiny bikini on the idyllic coastline despite warnings about the Middle Eastern regulations.

“Paris had made a big public speech, saying how much she loved the Middle East and respected its culture. But the following day she was prancing around on the beach in her bikini and posing provocatively,” says another source.

“Bosses warned her Western tourists have been jailed for flouting the rules.”

Hmmm… I was supposed to really really try not to slam Paris here in Paris Hilton Watch. However, I just can’t help it reading about this news. Like come on, those culture experts are really not needed if only Paris can keep her word to behave in the country. Prevention is better than cure, yes, but Paris’s idea of prevention might really be different.

Paris Hilton gets Arabian

Paris Arabian

Lately I noticed that I’ve been too cynical about Paris Hilton. At least this time, I’ll try to write something nice about her.

Well attending the press conference for her reality show in Dubai, I couldn’t help but be wowed with Paris Hilton’s fashion. With her in complete Arabian outfit –with all the jewels and blings – I wouldn’t doubt if all the attendees that day get mesmerized by her.

Anyway, talking about the Middle East version of her reality show, My New BFF, Paris Hilton shared that studying the conservative culture of Dubai, she promises that all the drinking and swearing of the show’s Los Angeles and London versions will definitely be out in this latest version.

“I wanted to know everything about this place first because I wanted to make sure everything was OK. I just want to respect everyone here,” Paris shared.

And since Dubai is a very conservative community, Paris promises that she, too will adhere to its culture by dressing conservatively and make the show open to women only. (Paris, conservative? Now that’s something to be seen.)

“I expect to learn a lot here. It’s a completely different world,” she said.

For the show, 22 contestants will battle it out (sometimes that could be both literally and figuratively) to bag the title as Paris Hilton’s New BFF (best friend forever).

Well I must admit that among the versions of Paris Hilton’s reality show, this one’s got me the most interested. Probably because compared to the previous versions, this one offers something new and different from Paris. I’ll be looking forward for this show and hoping we, from Asia get to see this.

Paris Hilton talks about reality show season 1 winner and summer plans

season-2

So here is the continuation of the post I made about Paris Hilton’s interview with Radaronline.com.

In the previous post we’ve heard Paris dish about the difference of this season to the previous one and even shared about the changes this season has. Now let’s hear Paris speak up more about the show and more importantly (that’s subjective actually) hear from her what happened to last season’s winner, Brittany Flickinger. Enjoy the read!

On comparing this season’s winner to the previous season: This season I found a real best friend, this person really likes me for me and not for any other material reason. Its so hard to find people that you can trust, especially in LA. You never know what their intentions might be. I want the best for my friends, but sometimes people only care about fame and that’s sad. A friendship shouldn’t be based on that, it should be about genuinely loving and caring for someone.

If we may recall, during the press conference of BFF2 Paris shared about why her friendship with Brittany didn’t work. She said: “My BFF and I are no longer BFFs. [Brittany] has become my ex-BFF. She was really hungry for fame and fortune … like a hungry tiger!” (Don’t they all want fame and fortune when they joined in the contest?!)

On summer plans: I’ll be working most of the summer shooting My Dubai BFF show and then when I get back I will be finishing my new album. I’m also working on launching my new sunglass range, lingerie line, purse and shoe line.

It really looks like Paris Hilton’s getting busier and busier these days.

As for the show, I’m looking forward to knowing the winner and later on find out that they aren’t BFFs anymore. *Rolls Eyes*

Paris Hilton talks about second season of reality show

my-new-bff-2

Time flies so fast doesn’t it? After the issues, controversies, and so-so rating that the first season faced, Paris Hilton’s MTV reality, My New BFF is now hitting boob tubes for it second season.

Talking to RadarOnline.com about the current season, here’s what Paris shared.

On what viewers can expect this time: This season was so much fun! I wanted it be like my own sorority house, so I definitely did some hazing. This season was amazing and blows away last season. I didn’t want to be tricked again like I was last time. So I was pretty tough with my decision and put the contestants through some pretty crazy challenges. Sometimes brutal, but I had to get rid of the Hungry Tigers and see who was real and who was not. (Why would she even have this show if she honestly believes none of those contestants have vested interest in joining?)

On the show’s changes: This season is so much different then last season. The Contestants were a lot more fun and all had such different personalities. There was a lot of drama, a lot of fighting, and lots of tears. But that makes for great television. (More drama, fighting, and tears? Wouldn’t that look so staged?)

On Doug being on the show: Yes, he’s in a few episodes of the show, but he was mostly off camera behind the scenes. It was so great to have him on set with me and he always came up with such creative hilarious ideas. The producers loved his ideas so much that they’ve hired him to be a producer on my new series of the show in Dubai. We leave in a few weeks and are so excited since we’ve never been. I hear Dubai is an amazing place.

Really, Paris, what new is there to expect in this kind of show?

More of this interview on the next post.

Paris Hilton BFF Fever infects Dubai

Friday, June 5th, 2009

late-show-with-david-letterman

Despite its pathetic plot and a not so impressive rating, Paris Hilton’s reality show sure is making waves worldwide. From the airing of its first season to MTV to its British reprise then to the premiere of its second season of the original version, Paris’s reality show will now be taken to Dubai.

That’s right! After hunting for new BFFs in the US and the UK, our dear heiress takes her ‘pal hunting’ show to the Middle East where she might also need to take her conservative side (if ever she even has one) considering the city’s conservative culture.

But I guess that would be less of the worry already as the show’s production “has promised to adhere to local cultural sensitivities. Swearing, sexually explicit conversation or risque clothing will be kept to a minimum.” Even producer Michael Hirschorn said they’ll walk through in great detail the region’s culture.

With Paris’s show already taking in Dubai, Michael also shared about the plan to make “My New BFF” into a global franchise. That means Paris would eventually go around the globe searching for BFFs.

And since Paris is with Doug Reinhardt now, expect the latter to also be on the show (no wonder why Paris said Doug won’t be returning to The Hills anymore).

“She’s very aware that she’s not going to be going and pointing fingers and laughing at anybody,” assures Michael of Paris being aware of the place’s culture. “She’s gonna be respectful. But also, if anything, (she) will be poking fun at herself. I think some of the comedy will come out of the learning about the dress and the behavior.”

‘Guess this one’s going to be more interesting than the other versions. It’s not everyday Paris Hilton tries to ‘act’ conservative.

Paris Hilton’s BFF gets in a minor car crash, asks friends to give ‘nice’ comments

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Brittany Flickinger

Paris Hilton’s [former] BFF, Britanny Flickinger has been involved in a three car smash up in Hollywood last night. Fortunately, the first winner of Paris’s reality show has escaped any fatal injuries and has only incurred minor ones.

“Brittany Flickinger claims she was on her way to a Hollywood party at around 10:30 PM when the car she was riding in smashed into two stopped cars on the 170 Freeway,” said the reports.

Obviously okay after the accident, Brittany has took her time to update her MySpace blog where she asks her fans to leave nice comments about the accident on TMZ. On the post, Brittany never failed to mention her then BFF, Paris Hilton.

Here’s an excerpt of the post she made:

“And can everyone do me a huge favor? please go on TMZ and leave me some nice comments on the story cus everyone’s so mean to me on there and I don’t even understand why. I’ve never done anything wrong to Paris, and have kept my mouth shut about the truth for her sake and I’m getting kind of tired of the undeserved abuse…

Hmmm… Two things here. First, I am glad Brittany is fine after the accident. Second, I thought she knew the consequences of joining a reality show that had a pathetic concept of finding a best friend? I don’t say it’s Paris’s fault nor it’s Brittany’s, but even an elementary student knows that friendship is made through time and experience, not in a span of months and through traveling and shopping.

With that said, I wonder why people still join such show. Fame, perhaps?

Paris Hilton show feeling recession

Monday, April 6th, 2009

par11

If Paris Hilton isn’t feeling any financial crisis, the second season of her reality show, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF on the other hand is feels the opposite.

Now that the season 2 of Paris’s show has started shooting, contestants are to live in a mansion that actually costs half as much as the home the show rented last season. No trips to New York and Tokyo this year too as production budget has been cut to 10 percent.

Michael Hirschorn
, co-executive producer of the BFF show said, “There’s just less money around. The economy’s a mess, so all of us have to work more efficiently. … We have a reality show that is 40 percent cheaper than this show that just got green-lit.”

I wonder if Paris Hilton’s pay is also lowered…

Dubai: Paris Hilton’s next BFF hunting destination

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

paris-bff-promo-2

Have people gone nuts today to really think Paris Hilton’s quest for a new best friend is really that amusing?!

After debuting her [pathetic] show via MTV – which by the way is now going for a second season – and from the British reprise, our dear heiress’ reality, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF is now reported to would also have a United Arab Emirates version.

A UAE-based television executive, Ziad Battal recently told the media, “I’ve been asked to executive produce the Paris Hilton show.”

“She’s going to come here to Dubai and shoot the whole thing from here,” Battal continued.

Wow! We’re talking about the reality show where people fight over to be called Paris Hiton’s best friend forever, right?! What is soooo great about this show that the whole world seems to want a reprise of it?!

Paris Hilton gushes over Doug Reinhardt, thinks he will be her husband soon

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt @ I heart Ronson party

Paris Hilton is at it again – gushing over her current flames who she thinks is her best friend and soul mate.

Attending the I Heart Ronson for JCPenney party last night, the new love birds, Paris and Doug Reindhardt couldn’t stop blabbering about their love for each other.

Caught by E!online for an interview, our dear heiress talked about her The Hills star boyfriend, saying: “We’re best friends. It’s not like we just met. We’ve known each other over the past year. I was in a relationship before and we reconnected. I’m really in love and really happy.”

But asked about the rumors of their engagement, Doug was keen to answer “You never know.” This was followed by a giggling Paris saying, “He’s going to be my husband.”

During the interview, Paris also shared why her friendship with Brittany FlickingerParis Hilton’s My New BFF Season 1 winner – did not seem to work out.

“It’s really hard because I loved her and I trusted her, but sometimes people get too caught up and they change. I want a best friend who wants to be friends with me because I’m a good person and a good friend, not for any other reason. I’ve been fooled by so many girls. It’s good having my boyfriend on set and watching. He comes up with funny ideas and production loves him.”

Know what I just got myself convinced about how immature Paris Hilton really is. I mean Doug is of course not her first boyfriend she considered her best friend and soul mate whatever. I mean, I should think this lady lacks adjectives to describe her men already that she tells the same things to different men over and over again.

And as for her reality TV winner, of course we’ve guessed this would happen. That’s why I wonder why a season 2 is still given to her.

Paris Hilton’s BFF contestants gone wild

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

paris-hiltons-british-bff2

At least two of them.

In a reality show, there are basically a couple of things that would make a show hit – conflict and more conflict.

For Paris Hilton’s reality show, Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend, the conflict of contestants battling it out to be our dear heiress’ next best friend may have taken into a higher and extreme edge as two contestants went into each other’s throats turning the show into utter chaos.

According to reports, Emma Beard and Kat McKenzie, who were two of the show’s Paris Hilton British best friend wanna-be, started fighting with one another, and had to be dragged apart as they fought for the chance to be Paris’s best pal.

A source was quoted by Contactmusic telling Sun, “The two were screaming at each other until 4.30am. They were both foaming at the mouth. Bosses had to call a psychiatrist to try to calm them.”

On the other hand, a spokesperson of the show said, “We have a psychiatrist on hand at all times.”

Well, with or without the psychiatrist on hand, this just means one thing for the show. – Rating!

Now I don’t think this is something Paris Hilton would be sad about. In fact there are two main reasons why she should be glad with this recent happening. First, it sure would be flattering on Paris’s part to find out how desperate her contestants are to be her friend. And second, this is the show’s chance to get more ratings.

Good or bad, publicity is always good for the show’s ratings.

The reason why Paris Hilton needs designer shoes

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

paris_hilton_shoes

Sometimes, people just have to give the difference of needs from wants and desires. For Paris Hilton, using designer shoes may be part of her wants but more importantly, it is something she needs because of her enormous shoe size.

Laura Meakin, one of Paris’s British BFF wanna-be’s shares what our dear heiress told her. “She told me she could only wear Christian Louboutin or Gucci shoes because she’s a UK size 8 or 9 and they are the only shoes which don’t make her feet look absolutely massive,” she told the Daily Mirror.

Meaken also adds how thoughtful and generous Paris was while shooting the show.

“Before one night out we were all gathered in her hotel suite and one of the girls said she’d forgotten her deodorant. Paris simply turned round and told her she could borrow hers, which I thought showed she can behave just like an ordinary girl.”

Now don’t they all say that just to please Paris?

Paris Hilton’s new British show premieres with 428,000 viewers

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

paris-hiltons-british-bff

On its British TV premiere last Thursday night (January 29), unofficial figures reveal that Paris Hilton’s new show, Paris Hilton’s New British Best Friend attracted 428,000 viewers on ITV2.

Unfortunately, the kick off episode of the eight-part series captured only a 1.7% share of the audience at 9pm-10pm despite our dear heiress’s rigid promotion of the show.

According to Brand Republic, “the 9pm slot was won by BBC One’s ‘Hustle, which had 5m viewers and a 20.8% share of the audience.”

On second thought, 428,000 viewers is actually not bad at all for Paris’s show as ITV2 is reported to have an average 400,000 - 600,000 viewership. When the new series of American Idol debuted in mid-January, it attracted 551,000 viewers. The premiere of the show Supernatural pulled in 509 000 viewers. The first episode of drama show Bionic had ITV2’s largest audience, 2.2 million viewers.

So Paris just hope that words of mouth will eventually help increase her show’s ratings.

Paris Hilton promotes TV show in London

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

morning-show

With the British reprise of Paris Hilton’s reality TV series “Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend” coming close to its premiere, it’s no wonder why our dear heiress is keeping herself busy promoting the show.

Recently, the 27-year-old heiress guested at ITV morning show GMTV to talk about her upcoming TV show and even more… including her jail experience.

“I don’t think it was fair. No other person in the history of the world’ would have been jailed for the same offence,” said Paris as the show’s presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard quizzed her about her short spell in prison. “It was horrible but I learnt a lot.”

And as for her TV show? Paris switches to light mood talking about her ITV2 programme that aims to find her a British best friend “who had a fun personality, someone who was real, someone who looked like they could be a lot of fun, someone I could trust. Someone who enjoys life.”

Paris also shares some reasons why many would really want to her BFF [best friend forever]. She said, “There’s a lot of advantages to being my best friend because I’m a lot of fun, I travel the world, I have a great time, especially when I come to London.”

Paris’s British contestants are made up of 11 women and one man who she all considers now as already her ‘best friends’.

“We are best friends we talk all the time… I’m close with a couple of contestants. I’m going to be out here a lot this year for work so it’ll be good to have some friends here.”

Well why do I have this feeling that I already heard her saying that promoting the original MTV reality show?
