It’s all about perception

paris-in-turkey.jpg

From her ‘noble’ act of visiting the Jakaranda Kinderhuis School in Pretoria South Africa, where she had some kind of meet-greet session with her fans, it seems like our dear heiress, Paris Hilton had taken her ‘good’ (?!) image quite too seriously. Now, she’s seeing herself as a role model for the young women just because she was asked to judge Miss Turkey in Istanbul!

If we may recall and look things up through Spock- the best for people search, Paris Hilton just happens to be the socialite and hotel heiress who banged the media with her infamous sex video tape. Aside from this, our dear heiress also spent a stint in jail last year after she was convicted for DUI. So reality check, Paris is actually known to most people as the notorious socialite who’s just good at flaunting her expensive blings and clothes. The one people know as the heiress and no role model at all.

Well of course that sounds like being too familiar with Paris. But who wouldn’t be? Paris loves attention!

Anyway, I guess it’s not only Paris who has this certain obsession for herself. Believe me, I’ve met a lot of people from Spock- the best for people search, and Paris sure ain’t the only narcissist in this world.

Yeah, I’ve been talking quite a lot about from Spock- the best for people search. But I really think everybody should get themselves in the site to find and learn about people from various walks of life. Just like Wikipedia and Goggle, the site is a free information resource and search engine focused on people throughout the globe. And because the information is sorted into certain category, it wouldn’t be hassle searching and finding information on the site.

Now, back to Paris, I bet our role model here just wanted to show off (as usual) and justifies herself to be a credible beauty pageant judge.

Check out on my next post as I feature Paris shows off her not-so commendable dancing skills.

Social Studies 101 for Paris

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

paris-in-south-africa.jpg

“I love Africa in general - South Africa and West Africa, they are both great countries.

That would probably be the most famous quote from our dear heiress, Paris Hilton, if not in Hollywood for this week.

Right after Paris and the Good Charlotte (where her beau Benji is a part) arrived in Johannesburg for the band’s world tour, the reporters asked the notorious socialite about what she thought of South Africa which she answered with the one quoted above.

Paris may have shown the dumb blonde in her for thinking West Africa is also a country like South Africa, but tell you what, I didn’t know, too. So that makes the two of us dumb now.

And while our dear heiress try to cover up that faux pas by being nice with her South African fans, I try to vindicate my ignorance by doing well with my posts here. Thank God for this blog and factors like web hosting, I am given the chance to learn and correct my mistakes, right?!

Well maybe we can all just put it as some Social Studies 101 for Paris and me. Now I know that West Africa isn’t a country but a “3 billion square mile area made up of 16 countries - Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.â€?

Paris Hilton: The Patron Saint of the Famous for Whats

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

I saw this interesting clip that Showbiz Tonight did pertaining to Paris Hilton and the other ‘baby Paris Hiltons’ a.k.a. the stars who are “Famous for What?

The clip starts with a backtrack of people having to do something to be famous then stops the rewind to stress the devolution of celebrities in 2008. It’s actually a clip about the usual question of those ‘talentless’ stars like Kim Kardashian, Lauren Conrad, and Heidi Montag. But of course, the video is somehow also a “tribute to the patron saint for the famous for nothing, our very own Paris Hilton.

The clip also cited what this group of celebrities does best. - Putting on make-up and posing. Well at least there’s something they do best. And in fairness to these stars, they are also good, no, not good, but best in fashion!

Talk about Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, and Paris Hilton, these girls could be honor students to fashion schools in California or fashion schools in Los Angeles. I bet these girls would top in any fashion school in California.

And you know what I think? These stars become more and more famous because of their appeal to the public. Yeah, give it to their sex scandals, excessive partying, and other notorious behavior but admit it, they are novelty! Their lives get to be more interesting everyday than those stars busy promoting their latest movies or singles.

And just like the video ended, maybe, just maybe, famous for nothing can amount to a little bit of something…

Paris Hilton’s love on the road gets environmentalists fuming

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

paris-powerpuff.jpg

Well not that they’re jealous or something of our dear heiress’ blooming relationship with Good Charlotte band guitarist, Benjie Madden. I don’t even think they care about her or her love life. However, I guess the greens have some concern of Paris Hilton’s plan of 20,000 air miles in 12 days.

Here’s an article from The London News:

Paris Hilton has environmentalists fuming with her plans to clock-up 20,000 air miles in just 12 days.

The heiress will be travelling the globe with beau Benji Madden and his band Good Charlotte as they start their tour.

However, the move has environmentalists less than pleased what with all the carbon fuel being burnt up, reports The Mirror.

Hilton revealed her packed itinerary when she left a tanning salon in Beverly Hills.

According to it, her trip will start when she leaves LA for London - a 5,000 miles journey.

From there it’s on to South Africa, Munich, Istanbul, Cape Town, Prague and Budapest before returning home once again.

Hmmm… Do you think London’s environmentalists would just rather see Paris flaunt her gracious looks ala fashion school in New York than travel the globe and pollute the ozone?

Well if that’s actually the case, then I would totally agree! I mean you know, what could be better than a look like one fresh from New York fashion schools? This goes to say that Paris should just stay home…err stay on the public’s eyes without having to contribute with the CO2s in the atmosphere. Better yet, why don’t our dear heiress pick out one of those fashion schools New York to keep herself busy while her beau’s on tour.

Oh well, too late, right?! And I bet those environmentalists should just accept the fact that Paris is just being Paris. And besides, I think Paris just did a relatively noble thing while they were in South Africa; signing autographs and taking photos and hugs from her fans.

Paris Hilton gets mocked the Indian way

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

paris-show-off.JPG

Has anyone of you noticed that dear heiress, Paris Hilton is getting more famous day by day? From Nick Carter’s poor little girlfriend to her infamous sex scandals and notorious public stints, Paris has turned herself into a household name. I guess it’s no wonder the India Fashion Week Show pulled off a little Paris Hilton mockery in ‘honor’ of her ‘haughty self-displays’.

Models took a stroll down the red carpet, pouting and blowing kisses as they posed for photographers at the edge of the runway. One model clutched a crystal ball, another a half-filled glass of wine while a third cradled a doll.

…[T]he Indian designers said they were just having a bit of fun at Hilton’s expense and not condemning celebrity socialites.

Paris ought to be hailed the epitome of crazy socialites, ayt?!

Anyway, too bad I wasn’t able to really catch that show. I mean you know, I’ve always perceived fashion shows to be a bit boring. And despite the versatility of the designs, I still can’t help but find the show as getting monotonous. It sure would be fun seeing this kind of ‘novelty’.

Hail Queen Paris!

The Talentless Paris Hilton

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

paris-show-off.JPG

I actually came upon this article from StarPulse.com about talentless celebrities making it big in Hollywood. And of course, when you talk about stars without talent, who’s the name that comes first in your mind? – Paris Hilton. Well there’s also her socialite pal, Nicole Richie, who, just like her is without talent but hit quite well in the media.

Here’s a part of that article:

Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton have become famous for several reasons. Their fashion choices, both admired and fodder for worst-dressed lists, for one. Their crazy, public antics and crotch shots. Their tumultuous relationships and Nicole’s pregnancy.

But among all that, one important question remains. How is it that these two women - the poster-girls for talentless celebs - have been able to sustain fame? Why, exactly, are they famous? Why do their faces sell millions of magazines? Why does their branding guarantee success of a TV show, fragrance or fashion trend?

In the case of Hilton and Richie, fame came their way through notable last names.

Only in Hollywood does a last name carry such an instant stigma. You wouldn’t immediately trust a surgeon solely on the fact that his father was a good surgeon. You wouldn’t trust a dentist just because his mother was a good dentist. You wouldn’t elect a president just because his father was a good president (oh, wait, maybe some of us would).

Fortunately (or unfortunately), Paris and Nicole are not the only ones mentioned in the article to have gotten fame for their last names. There’s Kelly Osbourne, Kim Kardashian, and Kimberly Stewart.

My take in this article is that these ladies aren’t just famous for their family names. In Paris Hilton’s case, she has this certain appeal to most people. She’s hated by parents for her notorious behavior, she’s envied by women for her classy and fashionable looks, and she’s loved by men for her sex appeal. She didn’t need the talent to be a celebrity; people both love and hate her for who she is.

Good for those who really worked their way to the top, but lucky they are who didn’t have to. Hollywood is after all big enough to cater both those with talent and those with none.

Something about Paris

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

parissss.jpg

Browsing over the Internet for some Paris Hilton related news or information when I stumbled upon this article published last February 21 in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, one of Philippine’s leading newspapers. It was an article written by Noel Torre entitled “Paris Hilton goes from sizzle to fizzle.

Here goes the article:

MANILA, Philippines—Only a few TV-film seasons ago, Paris Hilton was flying high, with a hit television series and a few well-received appearances in popular movies. Later, however, her on-screen persona took a sour turn, from ditzy-campy to “over-the-top—stop!
Our take on Paris going from sizzle to fizzle is that her self-spoofing, Middle America-shocking performance style and personality finally got tired— and tiresome. Another factor could be Paris’ age. Outlandish antics may be archly cute when performed by a teen or ‘tween, but a rich “bitch pushing 30 can end up getting ditched.

The latest downbeat denouement to Paris’ career was the recent poor opening week figures for her latest film, “The Hottie and the Nottie. Some other movies starting their run at the same time played in thousands of theaters and made millions of dollars—but “Hottie was initially screened in only around a hundred movie houses, and grossed less than $100,000.

“Hottie it obviously was “nottie.

Can Paris Hilton’s career still recover lost ground? For that to happen, she should drop her signature “bitchy rich girl image and opt for a new persona that’s more age-appropriate.
She can pull this major transformation off, because a few of her past movie performances indicated that she could do more than play it silly, sassy and superficial.

If all else fails, she could always go back to helping her parents run their famous chain of hotels!

My take on this is that, although it’s long overdue for Paris to straighten up her life, this is how the public knew her; the “bitchy rich girl. This is where she got her fame. I agree it’s time she act her age but you can’t expect Paris to be the well-behaved and demure woman that she’s not. That’s just her; naughty and playful.

Paris’ career may be in the ‘fizzle’ now, but don’t most stars do in the course of their career?

I’m no big Paris Hilton fan, and quite frankly, I’m also one of those who get annoyed of her nonsense stints. But let’s just say, she’s tolerable compared to Britney. Now that’s the real sizzle to fizzle career. ***Grins***

The Aquarius Women According to Chinese Astrology

Monday, February 18th, 2008

paris-hilton-birthday-2168-24.jpg

So Paris Hilton and I share the same star sign, Aquarius, the water bearer. I am not trying to be an astrologer or something here, but with the help of two astrology-related sites, let’s just try to find out what the Chinese Astrology says about the personality of Aquarius women like Paris and me.

According to Practical Astrology,

“If you are in love with a woman in this zodiac be prepared to be very happy or be very sorry. She is a very busy person with her own matters similar to a guy in this zodiac. She is able to live by herself without any guys in her life, a very strong person indeed. Not because she does not have a dream guy, but if she can not find such person, so what. Because she thinks she could do anything that a man can do. She is a leader, the real confident type. She likes to do things by herself, such as serving herself, opening the door herself. Because she thinks waiting for a helping hand is a waste of time, and she is not patient enough to wait around for that.

Knowing myself, I think this one has a hint of truth. When I am in love, I am really in love. However, I make it a point that my world doesn’t revolve entirely with the man I love. I guess this, too proves true to our dear heiress. As we often hear it on news or read in the Internet, Paris is the kind who’s okay with life, with or without men (with her caliber of course, it’s hard to imagine she’d run out of men in her life).

Beth Turnage’s Astrology Explored also says that,

“…Aquarius is at once group oriented but individualistic, innovative, yet inflexible, friendly, yet has problems with intimacy, magnanimous yet demanding, scientific, yet unpredictable, progressive, but stubborn.

Well, amen to that.

I guess being both Aquarians leave Paris and me with some bond.

Plastered Paris

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

0200743076700.jpg

According to The Sun, Paris had a very, uh, adventurous night partying after the Emmy awards. She fell over leaving a club (see above), and was later seen trying to climb over a gate onto a Beverly Hills property at 3 a.m (see next page). Paris, what’s with the Britney Spears-like behavior?

And Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl gave his official opinion of Paris:

“Paris is f***ing lame. She’s more offensive to me than anything. She’s a total, raging, disgusting, rich, lazy party slut. I pray that my daughter will not turn out like her.”

Ah, come on, Dave! Tell us what you really think!

Brad Finds Paris Boring

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

brad-web.jpg

UK magazineNow reports that Angelina Jolie’s better half finds Paris boring:

Brad Pitt is the latest celeb to slam Paris Hilton – he admits he’s bored of reading about her.

‘This Paris Hilton quest for fame…she’s blissfully obvious,’ the 43-year-old tells Details magazine.

‘We hadn’t seen television for…like a month. I’m probably exaggerating. And we just got back to the United States.

‘And we turned on CNN. And on comes Paris Hilton, going to jail. And so we just turned it off again.’

So, I guess that means Brad and Angie will not be setting up playdates with their kids for those little Hiltons Paris wants to have!
