Lindsay Lohan Busted!

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

capt703f54a545f7478f8e53c6.jpg

Paris’ fellow party girl, Lindsay Lohan, may be facing jail time of her own. On Tuesday, Lohan was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of cocaine, and several other charges. All this happened when the mother of an assistant of Lindsay’s (who had quit her job with Lindsay several hours earlier) phoned police to report that Lohan was chasing their vehicle! For more complete details, visit Eddie over at Lindsay Lohan Watch.

Now, Lindsay could be facing serious jail time if she’s convicted of any of the new charges against her. Just when it looked as though her long stay in rehab might actually have helped! Man, keeping up with Paris is certainly difficult!

Not only do you gotta watch the clothes you wear, the parties you attend, and the clubs you hang out at-now you gotta go to jail just like she did!

Paris and Smashing Pumpkins

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

10038274.jpg

Music site NME has Billy Corgan of “Smashing Pumpkins” revealing how Paris Hilton ended up on their new album sleeve.

“The original idea was we were gonna see if Lindsay (Lohan), Britney (Spears) and Paris would all shoot..(but) Paris I knew personally and hung out with her a few times, and so I asked her…and God bless her, she came, she showed up at 10am on a Sunday morning, sat in the chair, got made up and (I) shot her.”

They actually wanted Lindsay, Britney and Paris?! Did they wanna change their name to “Trashing Pumpkins?”

A New Album for Paris

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

285hiltonparis060407.jpg

Paris is working on a new recording! According to E! OnlineParis is working with Scott Storch, who produced her first album, on this second effort. Scott has also produced for Beyonce Knowles, Christina Aguilera, 50 Cent, R. Kelly, and Dr. Dre. It’s obvious she couldn’t ask for a better producer.

But does Paris really have what it takes-singing talent? According to an “insider,” Paris takes voice lessons several times a week and is really serious about a career in music. Her first album was less than inspiring. I had to change my radio stations every time I heard the insipid “Stars Are Blind.” Hopefully, she can do better the second time around, but I won’t be holding my breath.

Paris Smoking Pot?

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

paris-partying.jpg

Is Paris smoking pot again? After telling Larry King she’d never even done it once! Monsters and Critics says that Paris has reportedly been seen smoking pot outside an L.A. nightclub. Here’s an excerpt from their article:

Paris Hilton has reportedly been seen smoking marijuana outside a Los Angeles nightclub.

The hotel heiress - who told US chat show host Larry King in a recent interview she had never taken drugs - climbed out of an SUV car in front of trendy Hollywood hangout Teddy’s in what witness described as a cloud of marijuana smoke.

One fellow clubber told the New York Post newspaper: “She took a huge puff off of a joint, then opened the door and exhaled the pot smoke basically in my face.”

So, if this is to be believed, Paris is up to her old tricks already. The generous six weeks I gave her back when she got out of jail really was way too generous!

Paris Back to Partying

Monday, July 9th, 2007

32042.jpg

Access Hollywood reports that Paris Hilton is back to her partying ways. She was spotted arriving at Les Deux shortly before midnight on Friday, with a group that included sister Nicky.

Reportedly, Paris jumped up on a couch (wait, wasn’t that what got Tom Cruise into so much trouble?) and “danced seductively” to a number of songs, including a little number called “Stars Are Blind.”

This was Paris’ first night out clubbing since her release from jail and, apparently, she really enjoyed herself!

Paris Aims To Be the Next Oprah Winfrey

Sunday, July 8th, 2007

paris-and-the-knuckleball.jpg

I read the following press release at 24-7 Press Release:

PARIS HILTON ANNOUNCES SUMMER READING LIST IN EFFORT TO ENCOURAGE LITERACY
Paris Hilton has decided to use her high-profile status to help increase literacy. She has announced a four-book summer reading list that she feels is varied and will both inspire and entertain readers.

/24-7PressRelease/ - SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, July 08, 2007 - Now that she is out of jail, Paris Hilton, the celebrity socialite and actress, is anxious to do things that can have a beneficial influence on people. One of her first actions has been to announce her four-book summer reading list, filled with books old and new, with the hopes that it will help increase literacy. Paris Hilton stated that, “Oprah Winfrey has had such a positive influence on people by encouraging reading with her various book lists, book clubs, and recommended books, that I thought I could join in the effort to encourage people to not only read, but read worthwhile books, and so I have chosen four books that I know people will enjoy reading. I love to read and write - as I told Larry King in my recent interview with him, in school I loved being in creative writing classes.”

In announcing her summer reading list, Paris Hilton has chosen books that represent a varied spectrum. First and foremost on her list is the Bible, which is the book that helped her get through her prison experience. “When I read the Bible, I am always impressed by its timeless wisdom and simple but profound messages.”

Next on her reading list is “The Power of Now,” Eckhart Tolle’s bestseller that was first published in 1999. “This is such an important book, because it teaches the reader to be in the moment, to focus your mind on the here and now, and to pay attention. For so many people, focusing and paying attention is a real problem, and so many people are so easily distracted. This book has helped me immensely with my own attention deficit disorder.”

Where Will Paris Sleep?

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

The Washington Post reports that the private equity firm Blackstone Group will buy Hilton Hotels for $26 billion dollars in cash.

Does this mean Paris will no longer get the family rate? Maybe they’ll hire her for promotional work!

Paris’ Larry King Interview

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

verthiltonap.jpg

Wanted to post a few thoughts on Paris’ interview on “Larry King Live” on CNN while it’s fresh in my mind.

The bottom line is that I was very unimpressed by the whole thing. First, I heard nothing that hasn’t been reported in other news outlets over the past couple of weeks. Paris talked about how her prison experience has changed her life, about how she wants to do good works and to change her image. However, she still seems very unsure about what direction her good works will take-talking about several different things like working for breast cancer, a transitional home for women getting out of prison, and several other things, but with no definite plan.

When it comes to changing her image, again, she seems to have no definite plans. And, given some of her actions-her hair appointment a few hours after her release to have extensions put back in her hair-and her answer to Larry King about something she really wanted to change in her life (according to her, the way her voice goes up when she becomes stressed or down is a primary concern for her?!)-it doesn’t sound like she’s given a lot of serious thought to actually changing a great deal.

When Larry King lobbed an unexpected question at her, like her favorite Bible passage, she floundered, seemed to be checking her notes, and then said that she didn’t have a favorite. I have to give Larry King his due her, though. He managed to make an hour interview out of brief and uninformative answers.

I think I agreed more with Anderson Cooper following the interview. He was definitely unimpressed with Paris. I was really hoping to see something substantive from Paris. I wasn’t expecting it, but I was hoping. It does seem that Paris may have a future in politics, though. She seems to have a gift for dodging questions and giving vague answers!

Paris Is Out!

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

verthiltonap.jpg

With CNNreporters(among others) on hand, Paris Hilton was released from the LA County Jail at 12:15 AM, Pacific Time, this morning. As expected, she was greeted by swarms of paparazzi and reporters. Apparently, she smiled and waved, but ignored questions. She was picked up by parents Kathy and Rick Hilton. CNN reports that she went to her grandparents’ home in the Benedict Canyon area of Beverly Hills.

Paris now begins her probation term, which will end in March, 2009, provided she keeps her driver’s license current, and doesn’t break the law. Ms. Hilton will give her first interview following her jail term on “Larry King Live” this Wednesday night.

We here at Paris Hilton Watch would like to wish Paris the best of luck. We hope she keeps her nose clean, and changes her life, as she has said she will do. We hope so, but-given Paris’ past performances-we’re not counting on it!

Paris the Philanthropist?

Monday, June 25th, 2007

captnyol59306250056paris.jpg

The post-jail phase (this time) of Paris Hilton’s life begins tomorrow. The heiress has professed her newfound maturity, gratitude, and faith in God. She wants to change her life, to change her image, to make a difference. But is it possible for Paris?

According to Yahoo News and Dorian Traube, a professor of social work at the University of Southern California, it will be difficult at best. “Saying it is one thing and doing it is another,” says Traube.

“If this indeed has changed her, then the transition will be very difficult because she’ll have to find a new purpose in life” beyond being queen of the party scene, Traube said. “Her life will have to change drastically, which is going to be tricky because she’s going to be in the public eye more than ever.”

“She has almost set herself up to fail because there’s been so much talk about how she’s a changed person, how she found religion and she prays all the time,” she said. “People are bitter for the notoriety she has for having done very little other than party, so they’re standing around waiting for her to fail.”

Paris has stated that she plans to build a transitional home to help recently released inmates adjust to freedom.

So, can Paris be a philanthropist? Can Paris spell philanthropist? What do you think?

And Paris’ First Interview Goes To-

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

8087345.jpg

After much speculation (and fighting among the networks about whether they were willing to pay), TMZ reports that Paris Hilton’s first post-jail interview will take place on “Larry King Live” this Wednesday night. It is reported that Paris will be in-studio for the entire hour.

On Monday night, a guest-host will fill in for King, and will be talking with Richard Hutton, Paris’ lawyer, and an official from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department. Set your TiVo!

Paris released this statement about her interview:

“I am thrilled that Larry King has asked me to appear on his program to discuss my experience in jail, what I have learned, how I have grown and anything else he wants to talk about. Larry King is not only a world-renown journalist, but a true American Icon. It will be an honor to do his show.”

Paris’ Release Date Set

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

image2809091.jpg

It’s almost here! Paris’ release date! That’s the big entertainment news over at Yahoo and everywhere else right now!

The release comes 24 days after the heiress originally turned herself in, this coming Tuesday! The exact time of her release has not been set. Ironically, on the same day, LA County sheriff, Lee Baca, is set to appear before county Board of Supervisors, who are investigating whether his release of Paris to house arrest on June 7 amounted to preferential treatment.

I’m sure all Paris’ fans will want to celebrate her release, as will we here at Paris Hilton Watch. We’ll be bringing you all the news of Paris following her release, so stay tuned!

Paris’ Disgruntled Neighbors

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

ap_paris2_070619_ms.jpg

Apparently, Paris Hilton’s neighborhood feuds are occurring while she’s locked up! ABC News reports that Ms. Hilton’s neighbors are calling on West Hollywood residents to take a stand against Paris and her hordes of paparazzi.

Two of Paris’ neighbors have posted a flier, calling the media circus that greeted her earlier release from prison “intolerable”. According to the office of LA City Councilman Jack Weiss, more than 50 complaints have been filed since Paris’ brief prison release. The complaints concern helicopter noise, parking and access issues, and other disruptions caused by the press.

At least one of the heiress’ neighbors, Jim Andre, has been sympathetic to her situation. He says:

“It’s been challenging having her as a neighbor because of all the paparazzi, but I’ve sort of become sympathetic to her situation now,” he said. “Who knows if it’s something outside of her control or not?”

How would you feel if you were one of Paris’ neighbors? Would you sympathize with her? Personally, while it may be out of her control right now, I think that Ms. Hilton has more than asked for all the attention from the paparazzi. She’s always loved it when it suited her. Now that there’s a situation she’d rather keep private, she’s upset that she can’t control it. You can’t have it both ways.

Tell me how you feel about it.

Judge Judy: Paris Is A Criminal

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

judge-judy.jpg

Huliq.com reported on TV’s Judge Judy’s two-cents-worth in the Paris Hilton case. On Monday night’s Larry King Live, Judge Judy made the following quote on Paris:

“When a judge says to somebody, ‘I’m going to give you an opportunity to remain free - you committed a crime.’ In this case, she was driving while intoxicated and endangered a lot of people. ‘But I’m going to give you a chance to stay out of jail, even though I could put you in jail for what you did, but you have to abide by these rules.’ And she breaks the rules. “Paris Hilton is a criminal - a little criminal, but a criminal.

So, there you have it! If Judge Judy says it, it must be so!

Paris Hilton “Stable”?

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

paris.jpg

MTV has posted the following update on Paris’ jail plight:

Paris Hilton was reassigned Wednesday night from the medical ward at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles back to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, where she began serving her sentence last week, The Associated Press reports. A spokesperson for the L.A. County Sheriff announced Thursday (June 14) that Hilton will serve the remainder of her sentence — which he said will end June 25, 22 days after she first reported to jail — at the CRDC’s pecial-needs unit if her unspecified medical condition remains stable. Hilton, who was ordered back to jail after a brief reassignment to home confinement last week, originally received a 45-day sentence. …

You’ll pardon me if I have my doubts about the “stable” part!
