RECALL: Paris Hilton’s People interview after jail

Paris Hilton partying

Two months from now, Paris Hilton will be ‘celebrating’ – if ever she does – the second year of her short jail experience. But before we find out what our dear heiress plans for that day, let’s get a little recall about Paris’s short stint in Century Regional Detention Facility.

Here are some highlights of Paris Hilton’s interview with People magazine two years ago. Enjoy the ready guys!

On jail experience
:
“I was basically in the fetal position, basically in hysterics. All of the inmates were very supportive. There were girls next to me. We could talk through the vents and they were just really sweet.”

On her medical condition:
“The doctors were observing me while I was there. They explained to Sheriff [Lee] Baca that they thought I was having severe anxiety, panic attacks, claustrophobia.”

On people who doubt that she will change after her jail experience:
“They’re wrong and they don’t know me. I’m a good person. I’m a compassionate person. I have a big heart. I’m sincere, and they’ll see.”

On getting out:
“Just being able to hug my mom felt so great, and I really needed it ’cause I haven’t had a hug in a long time.”

Two years after and several boyfriends after that, have we all seen a new Paris after that experience? Personally, I think so. I’m really fan of Paris and have not really been following her life until I took over this blog, but I certainly believe our dear heiress has become more behaved and mature now. Well she’s been involved to little controversies after that, but none that really took her to a court again. So I guess she really was changed by the experience. But as to for how long she stays ‘behaved’ is something we have to see. She’s not Paris Hilton for nothing, remember?

Paris Is Out!

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

With CNNreporters(among others) on hand, Paris Hilton was released from the LA County Jail at 12:15 AM, Pacific Time, this morning. As expected, she was greeted by swarms of paparazzi and reporters. Apparently, she smiled and waved, but ignored questions. She was picked up by parents Kathy and Rick Hilton. CNN reports that she went to her grandparents’ home in the Benedict Canyon area of Beverly Hills.

Paris now begins her probation term, which will end in March, 2009, provided she keeps her driver’s license current, and doesn’t break the law. Ms. Hilton will give her first interview following her jail term on “Larry King Live” this Wednesday night.

We here at Paris Hilton Watch would like to wish Paris the best of luck. We hope she keeps her nose clean, and changes her life, as she has said she will do. We hope so, but-given Paris’ past performances-we’re not counting on it!

Paris the Philanthropist?

Monday, June 25th, 2007

The post-jail phase (this time) of Paris Hilton’s life begins tomorrow. The heiress has professed her newfound maturity, gratitude, and faith in God. She wants to change her life, to change her image, to make a difference. But is it possible for Paris?

According to Yahoo News and Dorian Traube, a professor of social work at the University of Southern California, it will be difficult at best. “Saying it is one thing and doing it is another,” says Traube.

“If this indeed has changed her, then the transition will be very difficult because she’ll have to find a new purpose in life” beyond being queen of the party scene, Traube said. “Her life will have to change drastically, which is going to be tricky because she’s going to be in the public eye more than ever.”

“She has almost set herself up to fail because there’s been so much talk about how she’s a changed person, how she found religion and she prays all the time,” she said. “People are bitter for the notoriety she has for having done very little other than party, so they’re standing around waiting for her to fail.”

Paris has stated that she plans to build a transitional home to help recently released inmates adjust to freedom.

So, can Paris be a philanthropist? Can Paris spell philanthropist? What do you think?

Paris’ Release Date Set

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

image2809091.jpg

It’s almost here! Paris’ release date! That’s the big entertainment news over at Yahoo and everywhere else right now!

The release comes 24 days after the heiress originally turned herself in, this coming Tuesday! The exact time of her release has not been set. Ironically, on the same day, LA County sheriff, Lee Baca, is set to appear before county Board of Supervisors, who are investigating whether his release of Paris to house arrest on June 7 amounted to preferential treatment.

I’m sure all Paris’ fans will want to celebrate her release, as will we here at Paris Hilton Watch. We’ll be bringing you all the news of Paris following her release, so stay tuned!

Paris Can Write?

Paris Hilton Mouth Open

According to the Post Chronicle reports that our Ms. Hilton is spending some of her time in jail answering fan mail! Apparently, a letter written by Paris to one of her well-wishers was obtained. Here’s an excerpt from it:

“I read your letter and just wanted to thank you for your kind words of love and support. The fact that you took time out of your day to write me truly means the world. Especially at such a difficult and scary time in my life.

“But I am being strong and trying to make the best out of the situation. And the letters I’m receiving really do put a smile on my face as I sit here in my cell, sad and alone.”

One of Paris’ reps confirms that the letter was written by Ms. Hilton. Wonder if it’ll become part of a library collection someday?! I’m very proud to hear that Paris can write!

Paris’ Jail Pictures

TMZ is sharing photos from Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, where Paris is incarcerated. Apparently, the other inmates were very happy to see Paris return:

Jailhouse Journal: 6/6/07

Beginning a new journal of Paris’ stay in jail. Who knows? Maybe I’ll have it published!

Reported by CBS News’ The Showbuzz:

“Paris didn’t have to go through the cavity search. When bent over, she didn’t have to cough,” said Saul Reyes, who does maintenance at the women’s jail as part of a work-release program. “She didn’t have to spread ‘em.”

Sources said that the inmate enrollment process that usually takes 24 hours, took Hilton an hour.

“All the inmates waiting to be processed were taken into a temporary holding cell, and Paris was brought in and booked quickly. The inmates taunted Paris for getting special treatment,” a bail bondsman told the newspaper.

And, luckily for Hilton, a soda machine was installed in her ward the day she arrived.

Apparently, someone from the outside tried to cheer Hilton up yesterday. The Post reported that deputies turned back two deliverymen carrying a dozen red roses and a fruit basket with apples, oranges and a pineapple for Hilton.

The care package included a card that said: “I hope you’re OK. Call me when you can. Don’t feel bad, remember you’re Paris Hilton.” It is not known who sent the package to Hilton.

So, dear Paris isn’t getting special treatment? Why didn’t she have to go through a cavity search if that’s normal procedure? Why didn’t Paris have to take her place in line with all the other inmates waiting to be processed?

So someone sent Paris a fruit basket. What?! No bananas and nuts? Remember, you are what you eat!
