“I can vote!” – Paris Hilton answers Joy Behar’s poking fun
People don’t forget. They just wouldn’t.
That is what Paris Hilton probably learned when she guested at ABC’s chatfest The View Thursday (September 25) to promote her latest MTV reality series, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF.
Everything seems to be going on smoothly during the first half of interview with the hosts and our dear heiress talking about the Funny Or Die spoof video the latter did to answer John McCain’s campaign. But when show’s resident “comedienne” Joy Behar commented, “Too bad you can’t vote … because you were in the slammer. My friend was in the slammer and couldn’t vote,” that’s when things got ugly.
Looking taken aback, Paris answered the unexpected comment, “I can vote.”
When Whoopi explained to her fellow host that losing the right to vote only applies to certain people convicted to serious crimes, Joy persisted, “What was your thing? Yours was a misdemeanor or something?” to which our dear heiress replied, “No, it was driving with a suspended license.”
And as if that wasn’t enough answer, Joy replied to that with: “You can still vote with that?”
“Yeah, you’re still an American, yeah,” saves Whoopi.
Whew! That was one uncomfortable situation for Paris.
And in all fairness to our dear heiress, I guess the comment made by Joy Behar was really uncalled for. For talk show hosts, I believe Behar should’ve been more careful to the remarks she make. As the show’s guest, Paris deserves some respect from the hosts.
And yes, by now, Paris may have already pondered that no matter how much moving on you do, some people are just so ‘unforgiving’ not to forget the ‘foolishness’ you did in the past.
